Bauchi State Government will soon receive N6bn as 50 per cent release from the Federal Government for the construction of 2,500 units of houses in the state.
The state Commissioner for Environment and Housing, Hamisu Shira, stated this while answering questions from journalists on the recent visit of Governor Bala Mohammed to the Minister of Finance, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed, in Abuja.
Shira said according to the Minister of Finance, efforts were on top gear by the ministry to release N6bn out of the needed N12bn to ensure the commencement of the project.
He said, “So far, about 90 per cent of the preparations for the take off of the project have been completed.”
He noted that the construction of the 2,500 housing units was in line with the policy trust of the administration of Mohammed to the provide affordable accommodation to common the man and civil servants.
