FOOD INFLATION – NIGERIANS SPEAK- WATCH VIDEO
There is no doubt that prices of food has skyrocketed in Nigeria. A bag of rice is eighty thousand naira, bag of orange is eighty thousand naira, a bag of stock fish is two hundred and fifty thousand naira in market today.
Recently, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) pegged the inflation rate at 33.40 per cent, with the food inflation at over 40 per cent.
The high inflation rate has worsened since President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023, pronounced an end to fuel subsidies.
Signature TV correspondent Nasiru Usman went to the street of Abuja to ask Nigerians why prices of food has skyrocketed.
Many of the Abuja residents blamed it on government policies.
