Former Heads of State, Niger State Governor Speaks On End Of Terrorism

Former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida says the Nigerian Army under Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya will win the fight against insurgency and Nigeria will soon see the end of terrorism and other forms of Insecurity confronting the nation.

General Babaginda gave the assurance on Monday when the Army Chief paid him a working visit at his residence in Minna, Niger State.

According to him, almost every part of the country is facing one security challenge or the other but in recent times, the Nigeria Army operational strategy is giving decisive blows to the enemy and has put the army in control of the situations.

A former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar, who also expressed satisfaction with the Nigeria Army’s effort in recent times, said the Army Chief’s periodic assessment tour in various theatres of operation will boost the morale of troops.

The Executive Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello while receiving the Chief of Army Staff at the government house, Minna stressed the need for cooperation between the Army and Nigerians to win the war.

Abubakar Bello who assured the Army of the support of the people of Niger state said the insurgency has hindered Nigeria’s economic progress but the army is capable of overcoming the security challenges.

The Chief of Army Staff who said he was on official duty at the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army, Niger state for the Doctrinal Development Conference aimed at reviewing Army training and operational concepts, promised that the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies will overcome the current security challenges bedevilling the nation if the service gets the needed cooperation and support from Nigerians.
