Germany’s Interior Minister, Nancy Faeser says on Tuesday that Germany is ramping up security before the start of the European Championship on June 14 to head off potential threats from Islamists, hooligans, violent individuals and cyberattacks.
She says there are no concrete indications of a threat but Germany is doing everything possible to make the event safe, adding that the terrorist organization, Islamic State of Khorasan Province was currently posing the greatest Islamist threat in Germany.
Despite this, she said Germany was looking forward to the millions of people who wanted to celebrate the ‘European football festival’ in Germany which will start on June 14 in Munich, Germany.
