The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has assured that the administration will complete the 195 billion naira Port Harcourt Ring Road project that was abandoned during the state of emergency rule.

The Governor made this known on Monday during an inspection tour of the Eneka section of the road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Governor Fubara, who was received and conducted round the site by engineers handling the project, said the inspection became necessary to assess the progress and readiness for the continuation of work.

He noted that the interruption in the execution of the project in the last six months was due to the lack of funds.

Governor Fubara during the flag off of the road in July 2023, stated that the project is central to his administration’s urban renewal and economic diversification agenda, as it will open up new business corridors, attract investments, and reduce travel time across the metropolis.
