Gov Peter Mbah Formally Declares For All Progressives Congress, Dump PDP
The governor of Enugu state, Peter Mbah has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party and declared for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Governor Mbah who made the declaration at the Government House, Enugu said the decision is a collective move following months of careful thought and soul searching about the way forward.
According to Governor Mbah, the decision is a collective one by the political family in Enugu State, comprising members of the National Assembly, members of the State House of Assembly, the State Executive Council, all the Local Government Chairmen and Councillors as well as all political appointees and over 80 percent of party executives.
Mbah said he had concluded that the state must stand for the principles and institutions that honour transparency, trust, and above all the people of the state.
Mbah noted that after decades after the South East, especially Enugu State stood firmly behind the PDP, showing loyalty that shaped the party’s success, the voices of the people were too often disregarded when it mattered most.
This he said made it necessary for the state to seek affiliation where its interests and that of the region are represented in the form of fair partnership saying that the people are not moving from a place of resentment or fear but that of confidence in the future.
Mbah said President Bola Tinubu is not just a leader but a partner in purpose, a man with the courage to look beyond today and make the tough choices that secure lasting prosperity for tomorrow.
The President, he said, has shown not only interest, but a deep and vested commitment to Enugu and recognized the region as a pillar of national progress.
