The Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has inaugurated the newly appointed chairman and members of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC.
This follows their recent screening and confirmation by members of the Enugu State House of Assembly which happened last week.
Speaking on the occasion, Mbah said his administration will not waver in its determination to strengthen the local government system for efficient and quality service delivery.
He charged the members to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible, saying people of the state will be expecting an unbiased approach to the electoral guidelines.
Speaking on behalf of other ENSIEC members, the chairman, Prof Chimdubem Ngwu promised that they would discharge their duties creditably by ensuring that the rules of engagement are strictly adhered to.
Prof. Ngwu vowed to make the people of the state happy by ensuring that all the political parties in the state are carried along in the scheme of things and given equal opportunities to exercise their constitutional obligations during the election.
Other members of the newly inaugurated commission include Solomon Ude; Emeka Ukwuaba; Chinenyenwa Ugwu, George Obiora, Ifeanyi Ede and Paulinus Eze.
