Gunshots in Niger as APC congress turns violent

There was heavy gunshot at the Lapai Local Government area of Niger State on Saturday night following the congress of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

It was gathered that the gunshots which were fired for about 30 minutes marred the congress in the local government.

According to reports, the exercise turned violent when delegates supporting different candidates clashed and were engaged in physical fight.

The Chairman, Niger State APC Congress Committee, Senator Domigo Obende, while speaking with reporters, called on party members to shun violence of any form during and after the congress.

It was learnt that the areas where violence marred voting are to have their congresses concluded on Sunday.
