House probes ministry over N343m ‘unexplained spending’

The House of Representatives on Wednesday resolved to investigate how the Federal Ministry of Water Resources spent N343 million on some “unexplainable projects” and the ministry’s alleged refusal to give the vouchers covering the amount to the Auditor General for audit.

The House berated the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Abdulkadir Muazu, for ignoring the committee’s invitation.

It directed him to appear unfailingly before the House Committee on Public Account today to answer audit queries from the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation (OAGF).
