President Bola Tinubu has revealed that he was advised against appointing Nyesom Wike as a minister in his cabinet.
He however stated that the former Rivers helmsman has become an inspiration to many people with his excellent performance in the nation’s capital.
Tinubu spoke while commissioning the Arterial Road N20 from the Northern Parkway to the Outer Northern Expressway within the federal capital city, which he named Wole Soyinka Way.
He said his presence at the commissioning ceremony is to say ‘thank you’ to Wike for giving his government a very successful first-year landing.
Tinubu said his heart is full of joy and full of pride because many people thought that he, Wike would not perform and expressed happiness that he has not let him and the country down.
He said the FCT Minister worked day and night thinking creatively and recommending reforms which he said he accepted as being beneficial to the people.
