INDIA RESIDENTS TURN TO BOATS AS SEVERE FLOODING INUNDATES CITIES
Torrential rain in several cities across India caused severe flooding, rendering some residents to turn to boat services to commute in their waterlogged neighbourhoods on Sunday.
Locals in the northern Indian city of Moradabad waited patiently as boats moved slowly past partially submerged houses through a neighbourhood inundated with floodwater.
Meanwhile, people in the western state of Gujarat waded through heavily flooded streets to commute and carry out their daily tasks.
In New Delhi, the death toll from this week’s sudden heavy rain has climbed to 11, including four citizens who drowned in submerged underpasses while flight operations stuttered in the Indian capital.
