While responding to a question on the level of preparedness of INEC as Nigerians Journey into 2023, he affirmed that dispite the enormous challenges facing the electoral umpire ranging from lack of Infrastructure and finance, INEC as an institution has risen up to the challenge and has made visible progress in the electoral process.
He said that INEC in a bid to reduce human interference from 2011 till date has introduced technological innovation to prevent political parties and politicians from hijacking the process such as the smart card reader and Bimodal Voter Accreditation System,BVAS machine.

He called on the national Assembly to work for the people in whose mandate they are there, as a symbol of representative democracy and not for their personal enrichment. He also called on the media to educate the populace on true nationalism and the need to make informed choices in 2023 elections.
