INFLATION: NIGERIANS LAMENT THE HIGH PRICE OF FOOD IN THE COUNTRY

Ahead of the Eid-El Kabir celebrations on Tuesday, Signature TV visited some markets in Abuja to feel the pulse of the market on the eve of the celebration.

Some Nigerians our correspondent, Blessing Adejoh spoke with, lamented the high price of food items in the country.

Traders and customers were unhappy about the soaring prices of food, Happiness Okeke and Rosemary who are traders were of the opinion that farmers can no longer go to their farms because of the fear of herdsmen which has contributed to the hike in prices of food items.

They were of the opinion that another factor that causes inflation is the high cost of transportation
Osita Solomon, a meat seller said the price of meat has increased.
He also added that there is meat but there are no buyers to buy because of lack of funds.
Lilian Kome, a customer who said she was shocked at the prices of the product in the market, said that she did not have a choice but to buy.
She called on the federal government to intervene and check the high cost in of food items.
