Israel to support Nigeria in the fight against insurgency

Israel says she will collaborate with Nigeria in the fight against insurgency and terror.

The country’s ambassador to Nigeria, Shimon Ben Shoshan said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

The envoy extended his country’s invitation to President Muhammadu Buhari to embark  on a state visit to Israel, saying the visit will enable both countries cement cooperation agreement especially in the area of military collaboration.

The ambassador who is visiting the Nigerian Army headquarters as part of the commemoration of 60 years of diplomatic relationship with Nigeria, commended the Nigerian Army for a great job they are doing in the fight against insurgency and other criminalities in the country.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, promised that the Nigerian Army would continue to work with the Israeli Army in the areas of training, sourcing of military equipment, information technology, and cyber intelligence.

He thanked the ambassador for appreciating the Nigerian Army’s efforts at ensuring the security of lives and properties of Nigerians and others resident in the country.
