A political pressure group, Njem Igbo has called on those canvassing for an end to Nigeria’s power zoning arrangement to reconsider their position because the call is unfair to the Igbo ethnic group.
At a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the President of the group, Chidozie Okoli said the peace of Nigeria, its unity, and progress depend on fair treatment of all groups in the Nigerian project.
Okoli said that to make out the Igbo as enemies of the Nigerian state because of the experience of the Civil War will be to overlook the constitutions and sacrifices of the Igbo in building an economically strong Nigeria and a progressive united nation.

While calling on Igbo leaders to speak out in support of an Igbo president in 2023, Okoli advocated alliances and handshakes across the bridge to actualize the emergence of an Igbo president in 2023.
The Njem Igbo, one of a number of groups canvassing for an Igbo President in 2023 say marginalization of the Igbo should not be an issue for national conversation but integrating all efforts to produce a president of Igbo extraction in 2023.
