JAPAN’S H3 ROCKET SUCCESSFULLY RELEASES RADAR SATELLITE

Japan’s space agency JAXA on Monday successfully launched its third H3 flagship rocket carrying a two hundred million dollar radar on satellite ALOS-4.

The ALOS-4 is a disaster management land observation satellite that can monitor disaster-hit areas and ground transformation and is also expected to help understand volcanic activity.

The launch on Monday came after the first H3 flight resulted in manual destruction and the loss of ALOS-3 last year in March.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and primary contractor Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plan for the H3 to replace the two-decade-old H-IIA rocket, hoping that its lower costs and greater payload capacity will help them win launch orders from global client.
