Labour Party Fixes #50m For Presidential Ticket

‎The Labour Party has released its timetable and guidelines for the 2027 general elections. 

‎The party says the sale of nomination forms will begin on May 6 and end on May 16, 2026, with submission of completed forms scheduled for May 17 and 18.

Screening of aspirants for state and national offices is expected to take place between May 20 and May 22, while party primaries will be conducted from May 27 to May 29, 2026.

‎Under the approved fee structure, aspirants for the presidency are expected to pay a total of fifty million naira, while governorship forms cost twenty-five million naira.

‎Senate aspirants will pay ten million naira, House of Representatives five million naira, and House of Assembly aspirants three million naira.

‎The party however announced concessions for women, youths aged 25 to 30, and persons living with disabilities, who will only be required to purchase expression of interest forms across all categories.

‎The Labour Party has urged prospective aspirants to take advantage of its ongoing membership e-registration, which closes on May 4, 2026, ahead of submission of its membership register to the Independent National Electoral Commission in line with the Electoral Act.
