Barcelona failed in their bid to re-sign Andres Iniesta in January, according to Sport.
Iniesta joined Barca when he was 12 and went on to spend 22 years with the Spanish giants.
During his spell at Camp Nou, the midfielder won 35 trophies, including nine league titles and four Champions League medals.
Iniesta is set for his third season with Vissel Kobe, having left Spain in May 2018.
However, Barca tried to bring him back on a six-month loan deal in the winter window.
However, Vissel Kobe rejected their approach, insisting that the 35-year-old remains a key part of their squad.
