MAKINDE UNVEILS MANIFESTO, PROMISES ECONOMIC RESET AND ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNANCE
Oyo State Governor and APM presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, has unveiled his policy agenda ahead of the 2027 presidential election, outlining proposals to tackle Nigeria’s economic challenges, strengthen institutions and improve the quality of life of citizens.
At a meeting with party leaders and members of the diplomatic corps in Abuja, Makinde said his proposed administration would be judged by measurable results, not political promises.
From the economy to security, education and Nigeria’s political structure, Seyi Makinde says his proposed reset agenda is built around four major areas he considers critical to the country’s future.
Unveiling the manifesto, the APM presidential candidate said the proposals were shaped by consultations across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones, insisting that government must be judged by tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.
On the economy, Makinde is promising to tackle the structural factors driving the cost of living, increase local production, reduce production costs and create a more competitive environment for Nigerian businesses.
He argues that economic stability means little if it does not translate into jobs, higher incomes and affordable living conditions.
The manifesto also addresses Nigeria’s security architecture, education and socio-political development, with Makinde promising stronger institutions and greater accountability for government performance.
He says the proposals will be presented with clear responsibilities, timelines and measurable targets, urging Nigerians to scrutinise the commitments and hold his administration accountable if elected.
Makinde says the proposed reset is intended to move Nigeria away from governance driven by promises and statistics, towards one measured by results and improvements in citizens’ lives.
The manifesto now places his policy proposals before Nigerians as political parties prepare for the 2027 general elections.
