MUSLIMS IN ABUJA CELEBRATE MAULUD IN GRAND STYLE – WATCH VIDEO

Muslim faithful in Abuja, Nigeria, on Monday joined their counterparts across the world to celebrate the 2024 Maulud Nabiy, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

The faithful trooped out in their numbers at a carnival in the popular Area 10 playground to honour the seal of all prophets in the Islamic world.

At the Abuja carnival, different Islamic schools dressed in their various attires made the procession in a colourful way, chanting and praising the noble prophet Muhammad.

Sunday 15th September, 2024 equivalent to 12th Rabi’ul Awwal 1446.A.H is the day the Prophet’s birthday is marked which makes it a significant day for Muslims all over the world.

It was a colorful day as Muslims, especially the youth, in their numbers made their way to the old parade ground drumming, singing and dancing in different cultural attires in Area 10, the venue of the Maulud Nabiy.

An Islamic scholar, Ibrahim Idris, who spoke with Signature TV reflected on the significance of the celebration.

Ibrahim called on Nigerian leaders and followers to reflect on the Prophet’s exemplary conduct and noble teachings and prayed for the peace of Nigeria, especially during these challenging times.

Some Muslims expressed their feelings on the essence of the occasion while others gave appreciation for being alive to take part in the celebration.

Many Nigerian leaders used the occasion to call on Muslims to show love, tolerance, perseverance, patriotism and commitment to the growth and development of the nation.
