NDLEA operatives intercept 4.9million tramadol capsules

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a container carrying four million, nine hundred and ninety-six thousand, two hundred capsules of tramadol weighing two thousand, four hundred and ninety-eight point two kilogrammes at the Onne Port, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi in a statement said the seizure of the illicit drug concealed in one thousand three hundred and eighty -seven cartons on Tuesday, 18th May 2021 and were seized following a joint examination by NDLEA operatives and Customs personnel.

In another development, Babafemi said, a 42-year-old Muntari Hamidu has been arrested in Nyibango, Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa state with 13 sacks of cannabis Sativa weighing 166kg

In his reaction, NDLEA chairman Brig. General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), lauded the renewed synergy between the Agency and other security agencies in its operations,

He also commended the officers and men of the Port Harcourt Port Command, as well as those of Adamawa and Ondo state Commands for their resilience and commitment to work,

He charged them to remain vigilant.
