NIGERIA ARMY COMMENDS COMMUNITY POLICING
The Nigeria Army has commended the commitments of the community policing system in the country while also calling for justice, through punishment for those guilty of unlawful behaviour.
This was made known when the COAS received representatives from the Nigeria policing programme NPP team led by their team leader Mrs Kemi Okenyodo.
The COAS represented by the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Major General Okwudili Fidelis Azinta said the Army has enjoyed excellent relationship with the police, while assuring the team that the channel of engagement will stay open.
Speaking earlier, The NPP team leader Mrs Kemi Okenyodo said the courtesy visit is to appreciate the NA for their consistent support and especially the one received in Borno state.
She noted that the scheme has been in partnership with the U.K government for the past two and half years and has provided them with enough resources to fight insurgency and corruption in the country.
The highlight of the event is presentation of gift to each party.
