Nigerian fintech firm Okra raises $3.5 million to expand data infrastructure

Okra founded in 2019 by Fara Ashiru Jituboh and David Peterside, announced on Wednesday that it has closed a three point five-million-dollar seed round, to expand its data infrastructure across the country
The company billed as Africa’s first API super-connector raised one million dollar funding from TL.com Capital last year and now has banked a three point five million dollar seed round led by the US-based Susa Ventures which is a total of four point five million dollar in two funding rounds and has recorded over one hundred and fifty thousand live API calls noticing an average month on API call growth of two hundred and eighty one per cent.
Okra’s open finance platform is a digital transformation tool for businesses in Africa and its API enables developers and businesses to build personalised digital services and fintech products for customers and the fintech infrastructure platform has provided its services to high calibre financial institutions, government agencies and startups including Access bank, Interswitch, Carbon, Lesson and over 100 digital-first platforms.
