Nigerians Knock ASUU As Some Agree With Indefinite Strike.

Some Nigerians in the streets of Abuja claimed that ASUU is being insensitive and inconsiderate in their actions lately, while some others stand with ASUU on their decision as they feel it is for the greater good.

The reaction came when Signature Tv went to the streets of Abuja to how Nigerians feel about ASUU declaring an indefinite strike recently.

One of the respondents, Hon. Haruna Musa Saidu stated that the government have helped ASUU enough with the TETFUND intervention forum, so he feels that the government does not owe ASUU anything. He said that when you demand something from someone you do not expect a hundred percent of it done.

However, other Nigerians who supported ASUU stated that no matter what the union demands that the government should fulfill it. One of those who stood with ASUU, Ifeanyi Umezuruike stated that he felt that the government should pay the lecturers their six months salary, because members of the union have families to feed.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on February 14, 2022, embarked on another strike demanding full implementation of agreements it previously entered into with the government in 2009.

The strike was just declared indefinite by the union, after they demanded their six months salary, but the government denied the offer, insisting on the No work, No pay policy.
