NOTHING SHOULD LIMIT NIGERIAN YOUTHS – TINUBU – WATCH VIDEO
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says under his administration bureaucracy or lack of access to opportunities will not limit the potentials of the Nigerian youth.
The president was speaking in the presidential villa at the start -up grand awards of the Nigerian Youth Academy Initiative.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was represented at the grand awards by the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, said his commitment to the development of the Nigerian Youth was not a political calculation but a personal commitment.
He said the commitment across from a clear understanding that the future of Nigeria and its capability to play in the international arena rest with the Nigerian youth.
He pledged to remove every barrier that can limit that remains the driver of the reform agenda of his administration.
The coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun said that by 2050, Nigerian youths in the age bracket of 18 and 25 years will makeup 25 percent of the world’s work force and by 2050 about 50 percent. He stated that no government could afford not to equip such an important segment of its population if it wants to be relevant in the global economic and social space.
The minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande whose ministry is spearheading the youth entrepreneurship programme said that over 2000 youths drawn from both the formal and informal sectors of the economy will receive grants of either one million or 500,000 as start up funds for new businesses.
The Nigerian Youth Academy Initiative, NYIA, a social intervention programme aimed at two goals. One is to reduce the unemployment pressure which drives deriancy and the second is to create a critical mass of skilled labour force that can make the Nigerian economy competitive in a world drives by technology and innovation.
