NSE: Investors lost N74.4 billion naira on Monday.

 

The floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange  opened this week on a negative note, as investors lost seventy- four point four billion naira.

The equity capitalization on Friday was twenty –one point eight -one trillion naira, and fell to twenty-one point seven-four trillion on Monday, a seventy- four point four-billion-naira loss.

As a result, the All Share Index closed at forty-one thousand, five hundred and sixty-four point three-one points from forty-one thousand seven hundred and nine point nine points.

The number of shares traded fell to three hundred and forty point two billion from four hundred and eighty-two point one million traded on Friday.

The value likewise fell from five point five billion naira to two point six billion.

The gainers were twenty-three while sixteen losers were recorded at the close of business.

Zenith bank and access bank were the toast of investors, trading shares valued at three hundred and sixty-eight point six million naira and two hundred and eighty-nine point six million naira respectively.

The top gainer was MC NICHOLAS PLC.

Other gainers include, UPC REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST, MULTIVERSE PLC AND FIDSON.

Champions breweries was the top loser.
