NYSC make Healthcare Service available to Rural Dweller

The National Youth Service Corps FCT coordinator, Suleiman Abdul has promised affordable healthcare for rural dwellers in the FCT through it Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (NYSC-HIRD) programme.
He stated this at the one week Medical outreach which started on Monday in Lokogoma, Abuja.
According to him, the aim of the scheme is to impact positively on the less privileged with target audience being rural dwellers who lack access to affordable healthcare.
Speaking on the success of the programme since inception in 2017, Mr. Abdul said “Statistics review that large number of rural Dwellers has been tested and treated for various illness and challenges ranging from Malaria, Thyoiod, Cough, Headache and Urinal amongst others”.
He therefore urge community Leaders and members to take advantage of the free medical healthcare provided by the scheme.
The outreach held in Anguwan Hausa, Damangaza Lokogoma Abuja, had volunteer Corp members sensitize the members of the community on “Personal Hygiene”, how to control and causes of Malaria and other diseases.
Some beneficiaries of the free medical service are the Village Head, Mallan Musa Bello and the other members of the community. Items such as drugs, Noodles, Pampers, clothes, textbooks, shoes and pads were donated to the community members.
In attendance at the 2021 flag off ceremony was the NYSC DG, Directors of the schemes, Corp members from Community Development Services (CDS) like; Charity, Medical and Health service, Red Cross, Cultural and tourism amongst others.
