Obaze, Peter Obi’s Ally Resigns From PDP As Aspirants Battle For Tickets

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in the 2017 election in Anambra State, Honourable Oseloka Henry Obaze, has resigned his membership of the party. 

Obaze informed the chairman of the party through a letter dated May 22, that he resigned “effective from May 22, 2022”.

This was as a faction of the party held its Senatorial primary election for Anambra North and South districts in Awka in which Senator Uche Ekwunife being the sole aspirant from Anambra Central was said to have won.

Meanwhile, results of the House of Representatives primary election in the state continued to trickle in Honourable Obinna Chidoka, who has been representing Idemili North and Idemili South Federal Constituency has picked the ticket to contest for the third time on the ticket of PDP. 

Also, Dr Emeka Eze was elected to contest the Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njikoka Federal Constituency for PDP, while a two-time member of the House of Assembly Hon. Lawrence Ezeudu was elected to fly the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag in the same Constituency.

Obi Nwankwo won the ticket for Awka North and Awka South, Hon. Arinze Awogu won for Ogbaru Federal Constituency both for APGA.

The election in Oyi/ Ayamelum Federal Constituency ended in disagreement as one of the contestants and former Commissioner for Transport, Uche Okafor, who lost, resigned his membership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
