POLICE ARREST TWO OVER MURDER OF IMO INSPECTOR

The Imo State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a police inspector, Henry Effiong, in Owerri.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Henry Okoye, who disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday said that the inspector’s rifle was also stolen by the assailants.

Okoye said the command is trailing another suspect believed to have been involved in the killing.

The command spokesman said Effiong, who was attached to the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief Rex Anunobi, was reportedly attacked with machetes at the commissioner’s residence in New Owerri.

The lifeless body of the inspector was discovered in his room with visible machete cuts.
