The police, Directorate of State Security, (DSS) and judiciary in Niger State have assured the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC of their support in the fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes.
They gave the assurance a few days ago when the Acting Zonal Director of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC, Dr. Benedict Ubi paid official visits to the Niger State Commissioner of Police, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, the State Director of the Directorate of State Security, (DSS), Usman Bello Ibrahim and the Chief Judge of Niger State, Hon Justice Halima. I. Abdulmalik.
Dr. Ubi, who spoke at the occasions on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr Ola Olukoyede called for a stronger support and collaboration from other law enforcement agencies to the EFCC in the fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes in the country, especially in the areas of joint operations and trainings.
While the hosts assured the EFCC of their support and commended it for its dedication towards a new Nigeria, Danmamman and Ibrahim assured the Commission of the readiness of the police and DSS in the state to engage in joint operations and trainings with the EFCC, pursuant to its mandate.
Justice Abdulmalik on his part, assured the Commission of the readiness of the judiciary in the state to work with it, promising henceforth to dedicate two judges in the state to handle EFCC cases.
