Presidency organizes summit to enlighten Nigerians on Next Level Agenda

The Nigerian government has organized a summit to enlighten Nigerians on the ”Next Level Agenda” of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Declaring the event open in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mohammed Musa Bello, said the summit would explain to Nigerians the programmes and policies of the Buhari administration.

Musa Bello also said that recommendations from the maiden edition of the summit last year helped the administration in taking certain decisions that impacted positively on Nigerians.

The FCT Minister, represented by M.T. Musa, maintained that the Next Level Agenda of the government is a promise come through that will positively enhance the living standard of the people.

The convener of the summit, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Policy Development and Analysis, Ibrahim Bapetel Hassan said the summit was designed to provide a platform to bring together diverse actors to dialogue on issues that affect the society.

He assured the participants that the outcome of the summit would be documented and disseminated to relevant individuals and institutions that will use them to actualize the objectives of the next level agenda.

The Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd) who spoke on “Securing the Nation for Socio-Economic Development”, gave insight into the nexus between National Security and Development.

He said the overall objective is for the country to attain stability, social harmony and economic development which are the three-point agenda of the current administration.

He added that some of the programmes embarked upon by Government included the local production of sophisticated weapons.

Participants at the summit called for the conduct of a National census to enable the authorities to determine the number of people they cater for.
