Presidential Elections Petitions Judgement
The presidential elections petitions court in ruling on the petition filed by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party said the petitioners did not state clearly what the facts are and the grounds to which they are challenging the elections.
The court has delivered judgement that the consolidated 3 petitions Atiku Abubakar (PDP) Peter Obi (LP) and APM be overruled. Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains Nigeria’s President while Kashim Shettima his Vice President.
According to the petitions court, the petitioners, PPD only relied upon the reports of the statistician they contracted to monitor the election to lay claims that they election was marred.
The court went ahead to say that the petitioners were unable to provide particulars of the results, polling units and states where they claim had irregularities.
The court further averred that the way and manner in which PDP filed their processes were wrong.
The lead judgement also said the claims that Tinubu suppressed voters and manipulated the election were vague and the petitioners were unable to provide the details of the votes they claim were depleted.
The court said inability to provide evidence to prove widespread irregularities, voter suppression, over voting and manipulation made the case loose and therefore struck out.
Meanwhile that of the presidential candidate of Nigeria’s opposition Labour party has been struck out for lacking in merit.
This is just the judgement of the two Judges amongst the five panel Judges.
