Association of all town unions from Imo state, the Imo Community Association, Abuja branch says the State should now feel a sense of relief because responsible governance is within reach in the state.
The group expressed their optimism in Abuja on Tuesday while endorsing AIG (rtd) Dr,. Charles Ugomuoh as most suited for the governorship of Imo state in the November election.
Dr, Ugomuoh’ is contesting the governorship seat under the Labor Party.
The group is confident that Imo State under Ugomuoh is going to be the heartbeat of the South East and his government will harness the human and material resources in the state to create a new standard of living for the people.
Chief, Damian Onuoha, the group’s President -General, said Ugomuoh is a technocrat who has what it takes to make government to work for the people.
He said the retired Assistant Inspector General of Police is coming with a lot of experience in human management and tackling insecurity in a manner that elicits citizens cooperation.
Also speaking, Ekwere Chika, President-General, Umuada Igbo Development Association, promised to mobilize the women to support and campaign for Ugomuoh who has committed to women and youth development in Imo State.
Ugomuoh, thanked the group for their support and endorsing him to go to the Dauglas house as the next governor of Imo State.
He promised to create an enabling environment for Imolites, foreign and local investors to invest in the State, exploit dormant opportunities and create jobs for the people.
Ugomuoh had on Tuesday, March 14th picked his expression of interest form under the Labour Party to contest for the governorship of Imo State and promised to create a youth friendly government in the State.
The Imo Community Association has been in existence for over thrity years with the aim of engendering interaction among the various Town Unions of Imo State Origin based in Abuja. The group believes in a clear vision and mission for the advancement and development of Imo Towns and its citizens.
