Ramadan: MESH Distributes Palliatives To 3,000 Households Across Nigeria

As the Muslim fasting enters the last lap, the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, under the auspices of the Education, Social and Health Mission (MESH) has distributed palliatives to vulnerable Muslim communities across Nigeria.

At the end of the food distribution programme on Thursday in Ushafa Bwari, Abuja, MESH Program Officer, Khadija Oladipupo, said 3000 households benefited from the 2024 Ramadan palliatives distribution across the six geo-politics zones.

Fifty households benefited from the Ushafa food distribution in the FCT.

According to her, states like: Abia, Bayelsa, Benue, Sokoto, Ondo, Nasarawa and Federal capital Territory have benefited from the schemes, with the hope of increasing the states.

Oladipupo said items distributed are: Rice, Beans, Spaghetti, Semovita, Groundnut oil, Red Oil, Sugar, Salt, Maggi, and Garri.

The Chief Imam, Ushafa Central Mosque, Salihu Ahmed, thanked the organization for reaching out to the community and prayed that the palliatives will go a long way for the community.

In his remarks the chairman of Ushafa Central Mosque, Yusuf Salihu, said anyone that helps Muslims in the month of Ramadan, Allah will reward him/her abundantly.

The group extends its gratitude to donors who have supported them in making the 2024 Ramadan food distribution programme possible across the country.
