Residents of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital have expressed mixed feelings as Government sets to construct two new flyovers within the remaining 10 months of the current administration.

Earlier, this week the Executive Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike announced the commencement of the 11th and 12th flyover at the Rumuokuta roundabout, along Ikwerre road and NTA-Choba road axis. Wike also said the construction of these overhead bridges was part of his administration’s goals to improve infrastructural development in the state.

Some residents who spoke to SignatureTV were of the opinion that in as much as the flyover was a welcome development on the long run it would affect businesses in the area

In the last 3 years of Governor Wike’s tenure in office he has successfully completed over 8 flyovers in various areas of town, thereby easing traffic in most of these areas.
