The Rivers State Government has announced the commissioning of a 10-day project.

This announcement comes a day after the Supreme Court barred the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from releasing federal allocations to the Rivers State Government. The apex court also nullified the recently held local government elections in the oil-rich state.

While political tension grips the state following the court’s verdict, the Siminalayi Fubara administration said it remains resolute in its development agenda.

The 10-day exercise that will see the unveiling of critical infrastructure projects across Rivers State and beyond is slated to begin on Monday, March 3, 2025.

The projects cut across critical sectors, including housing, fire service, security, healthcare, education, and judiciary welfare. The exercise will take place across key locations in Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor, Khana, and Okrika Local Government Areas and equally extend to Bayelsa State.

In a statement on Saturday, the Commissioner for Information, Joe Johnson, said the inaugurations are in line with the Fubara-led administration’s avowed commitment to Sustainable Development.

He said the “projects align with the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, security, education, and improved public service delivery.”

“The commissioning will see the active participation of key government officials, community leaders, and stakeholders in various sectors.

“The public is therefore encouraged to join in celebrating these significant milestones as the government continues to work towards sustainable development, growth and improved quality of life for all citizens and residents of our cherished Rivers State.”

From March 3 through 14, the timeline of the project commissioning is as follows:

March 3 – Government House Staff Quarters, PHALGA
