Sam Anyanwu Remains National Secretary of PDP
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP expanded caucus meeting has just ended in Abuja with the resolution for Sen. Sam Anyanwu to remain as national secretary of the party.
Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting , the Acting national chairman of the party, Umar Damagun said the meeting will reconvene on July 24.
He said the peaceful deliberations and outcome of the meeting disappointed the party’s detractors who worked to undermine the meeting.
Bauchi State governor Bala Muhammed who also chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, says heavy security presence in the morning was to forestall any troubleshooters from creating avoidable confusion at the secretariat.
He described the blockade as necessary to “prevent miscreants” from hijacking the meeting.
