The Nigerian Senate has condemned the recent resurgence of terrorist attacks across the country, particularly assaults targeting military formations, describing them as a threat to national security and stability.

The Senate subsequently urged the federal government to strengthen military training on civilian protection and ensure strict adherence to rules of engagement and international humanitarian law.

The resolution followed a motion sponsored by the Senate whip, Tahir Munguno who expressed deep concern over deadly attacks on military formations.

Other Senators expressed similar concern calling for urgent and comprehensive measures to tackle the menace.
