Signature Television Reporter Among The 23 Nigerian Journalist Picked For MTN MIP Program

An anchor and reporter with Signature Signature Television, Pius Charles is among 23 Nigerian journalists selected for the prestigious MTN Media Innovation Programme (MIP) 2024 Fellowship.

The program, which began on May 20, 2024, at the main campus of the Pan-Atlantic University in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, includes a study visit to the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and a tour of the MTN Group Head office in Sandton.

The MTN Media Innovative Program (MIP), facilitated in partnership with Pan-Atlantic University’s School of Media and Communications, received over 2,600 applications. After a rigorous selection process, 23 fellows were chosen to participate in the fully-funded, six-month certificate program.

Participants will spend 33 days in classroom training, an all-expense-paid, 7-day training session in South Africa in addition to training sessions at the MTN Nigeria Headquarters and MTN Group Headquarters.

Journalists carefully selected across the country cut across Radio, Television, Print and Public Relations including Ayodele Samuel of Rock FM, Chioma Chukwuemeka of Sapiensa FM, Blessing Agbeetan Women FM and Prince Osuagwu of Vanguard Newspaper.

Other participants include Augustus Aigbe of Cool FM, Juliet Tontoye from Royal Roots, Nkechi Ogbonna of the (BB), Chiemele Ezeobi of This-day, Ebun Dosumu from ConclaveClub, Nifemi Oguntoye of TVC and Rebecca Omonike of Diamond FM among others.

The MTN Media Innovation Programme is a six-week program spread over six months, designed for media practitioners in Nigeria.

The program aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills, helping them understand the evolving media landscape and how to effectively use technology to create impactful content.
