Ohanaeze Ndigbo urge Lagos to disregard threat by IPOB
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo hasĀ described the claim that members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are plotting to attack the state as a dangerous statement aimed to cause division.
The President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ambassador George Obiozor, stated this on Thursday during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House in Marina.
While noting that such rumour was a ploy to distract the governor and his administration from providing good governance for all residents of the state he described the state as the second home of several people in the South East.
Ambassador ObiozorĀ stated that the Igbo people were renowned for being agents of development and not destruction.#

Two Policemen Injured As Hoodlums Attack Second Abia Divisional HQ In Four Days
Two policemen have been injured in another attack on a Police Divisional Headquarters in Abia State, south-east Nigeria.
A group of hoodlums attacked the police station at about 10 pm on Wednesday in the Bende Local Government Area of the stateĀ and set it on fire.
While the two policemen injured during the attack have been taken to a hospital for medical attention, the police command vowed not to rest on its oars to fish out the perpetrators.
The Commissioner of Information in Abia, John Okiyi, confirmed the attack on the police station on Thursday.#
Police orders investigationĀ into fire incident at Enugu INEC office
The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mohammed Aliyu, has ordered an investigation of a fire outbreak at the Obollo-Afor office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
Aliyu also directed the cordoning off of the scene for the thorough probe to further ascertain the actual cause of the fire outbreak and damages incurred.
The stateās Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday morning.
Ndukwe said that the fire incident, which happened at the INEC office in Obollo-Afor located in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, happened on May 13, at about 9.40 p.m.
He said that the fire was eventually put off before it could spread to other offices around the building, through combined efforts of the fire service, the police and law-abiding citizens. #
Ā Power Restored To National Grid After System Collapse ā TCN
The Transmission Company of Nigeria says Power has been restored to all the 330kv transmission stations across the entire grid.
The company disclosed in a statement on Thursday that electricity was restored to the transmission stations at about 5:54pm on Wednesday.
A total system collapse of the grid was recorded at about 11:01am on Tuesday, as a result of voltage collapse at some parts of the grid.
A few minutes later after the collapse, TCN commenced grid recovery from Shiroro Generating Station to Katampe TS, Abuja through the Shiroro ā Katampe line, as well as through the Delta Generating Station to Benin Transmission Substation. #

Ā U.S Lifts Indoor Mask Mandate For Vaccinated People
The top U.S health agency on Thursday announced it was lifting mask-wearing requirements for people fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky said anyoneĀ who is fully vaccinated can start doing the things that they had stopped doing because of the pandemic.
The move, which comes more than a year after the federal government recommended people cover their faces in public, follows accumulating data showing the extremely high efficacy of vaccines, not just to prevent symptomatic Covid-19 but also infection. #
