Corruption Tori Pays Courtesy Visit to Mpape District Head.
Corruption Tori Team on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the district head of Mpape community, in regard to the upcoming Town Hall taking place in Mpape tomorrow.
Speaking at the visit, Nwabueze Njoku, the Chief Operating Officer of Signature TV, who briefed the District Head on the purpose of the visit, buttressed on how the Corruption Tori Team were working tirelessly with the support from MacArthur Foundation to amplify the war against corruption in Nigeria.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer, Signature Communications Limited, Vinmartin Obiora Ilo, extended an invitation to the district head for an imminent town hall to be held in Mpape, on Thursday, the 18Th of November, 2021, expressing how good it would l be to have the voice of the community at the Town Hall meeting.
Ilo also lamented the bad road leading into the community and suggested ways the government can help.
The District head while responding, expressed optimism that the event would yield a positive impact on the Mpape community.
He further stated that the bad state of the Mpape road has been a major concern to him, adding that the outcome of the town hall meeting would proffer a solution to infrastructure challenges in Mpape community.

Lagos Traffic: Sanwo-Olu Commissions Multi-Level Car Park
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commissioned the Onikan multi-level car park to tackle the perennial traffic jam in Lagos Island.
The multi-level car park and facility building consist of five car parking floors with a capacity for three hundred and eighty-four vehicles with offices for tickets.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Gboyega Akosile, in a statement issued on Wednesday, noted that the facility was conceived in June 2013 when the incumbent of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, was the Commissioner for Works.
According to him, the building will service the renovated Onikan stadium and other primary social centers, such as Island Club, Yoruba Tennis Club, Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, King George V Park, Police Command Recreational among others. #

Zamfara PDP Sues Govt Agency Over Demolition Mark on Secretariat
The Zamfara State chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) says it has instituted a legal suit against the Zamfara State Urban and Regional Planning Board (ZUREP) for marking its state’s secretariat in Gusau for demolition.
Retired Colonel Bala Mande, the State Caretaker Chairman of the PDP, stated this while briefing newsmen on Tuesday at the end of the party’s weekly executive meeting in the state capital.
According to him, the state government is making an attempt to provoke the party by marking its secretariat for demolition, stating that the action was to harass and intimidate the PDP in the state.
The PDP caretaker chairman stated that the party would continue to hold political activities at the secretariat and not succumb to any form of harassment or intimidation. #

Kano To Pass Child Protection Bill Before End Of 2021
The United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has said that it is working with the Kano State House of Assembly to pass the Child Protection Bill into law before the end of 2021.
Emilia Alang, UNICEF’s Child Protection Manager, gave the assurance in Kano on Tuesday at a workshop organized in collaboration with the state’s Ministry of Justice for law enforcement agencies, on ways of handling children cases.
The bill, which according to her is the domesticated version of the Child Rights Law, was drafted totally with the religion and culture of the people of the state.
The Director, Citizen’s Right, Kano State Ministry of Justice, Sanusi Salisu Aliyu, said the workshop would build the capacity of law enforcement agencies in respect of how they could treat cases of children. #

Suspected Ambazonian Soldiers Invade Taraba Community, Kill 11
Tension gripped residents of Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State in the early hours of Wednesday when some suspected Ambazonian soldiers from the Republic of Cameroon stormed the community.
It was gathered that 11 persons including a traditional ruler were killed in the incident.
Joseph Manga, the brother of the slain traditional ruler and the Senior Special Assistant to the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, confirmed the incident to newsmen and said d that the Ambazonian soldiers first attacked the border community in Cameroon republic before crossing over to Nigeria to unleash mayhem.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Shiban Tikari disclosed that as at when he visited the scene in the early hours of Wednesday, after receiving the distress call, only five dead bodies were recovered, adding that other residents of the community were still missing as they are suspected to have fled to other communities for safety. #

FG announces possible resumption of flights to United Arab Emirates
The Federal Government has announced the possibility of resuming flights between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
National incident manager of the presidential steering group on COVID-19, Mukhtar Muhammad, said both countries had agreed on the United Arab Emirates government’s revised travel limits and conditions.
He explained that, in order to maintain harmony, the federal government has agreed to the COVID-19 testing requirement imposed by the UAE government in March 2021.
Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Musa Nuhu, also stated that Emirates Airline would soon resume its flight operations in and out of Nigeria, adding that discussions with the airline is still ongoing.
In February, Emirates directed Nigerian travelers at the Lagos and Abuja airports to conduct rapid COVID-19 tests before departure, which led to a ban on Emirates flights in Nigeria. #

Armed police and soldiers patrolled the Ugandan capital on Wednesday, as security was stepped up following twin suicide bombings claimed by the Islamic State that killed three people in the heart of Kampala, the capital territory of Uganda.
Ugandans have been urged to remain on high alert after Tuesday’s attacks, the latest in a string of bombings targeting the East African nation.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire told newsmen that Security has been stepped up in and around Kampala to ensure the public is safe from any possible dangers
Checkpoints have been set up on several roads in Kampala, while the areas where the two bombings occurred have been closed off to motorists as teams of investigators scour the blast sites. #
