Southern Kaduna killings: Gov El-rufai, Senior military officers, DSS in crucial meeting
The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-rufai, Senior military officers, DSS, and some other security operatives are meeting over the security challenges in Southern Kaduna area of the state.
The meeting was described by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, as high powered aimed at bringing down the high insecurity in the Southern part of Kaduna State.
There have been series of attacks in Southern Kaduna culminating in killing of a number of people virtually on weekly basis. The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union and other organizations in the area have alleged that the government of Kaduna State had been insensitive to the killings and wanton destruction of crops and property as well as ”land grabbing” leveled against the Hausa Fulani and their accomplices from the Northern part of the State.
Governor El-Rufai has, however, denied government’s support and culpability in the attacks and killings in Southern Kaduna. The high level security meeting is seen by many as the beginning of an inter-agency solution to the ongoing attacks on the people of Southern Kaduna.
