TASKFORCE ARRESTS 53 DRUG SUSPECTS IN LAGOS BLACK SPOTS RAID
No fewer than 53 suspects were arrested on Tuesday during a sting operation by the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce for engaging in illicit drug activities.
The state Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a post on X.com on Tuesday.
According to Wahab, the raid followed discreet surveillance on black spots in some locations within the Alimosho Local Government Area.
The sting operation led to the arrest of 53 suspected dealers and users of illicit substances who have turned the entire area to a safe haven for illicit drugs activities.”
The raid reportedly uncovered a significant quantity of various drugs, including Colorado, substances believed to be Kanedian Loud Hemp, Tramadol capsules, Codeine syrups, illicit substance weighing scales, packs of Indian hemp crushers, and knives, among others.
Wahab noted that the arrested individuals will be charged to court.
Recall that earlier in November, the Lagos State Government arrested 87 suspects at dark spots in the Ikoyi and Lekki areas of the state.
Similarly, in July, the task force arrested 124 suspects during multiple raids of criminal hideouts across the state.
