The Bears dominated the Trading Floor of NSE On Thursday

Transaction proceedings on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended on a negative note at the close of trading on Thursday as the market capitalization maintained a negative stance.

On Wednesday, Market Capitalization closed in the negative, declining from Eighteen Point Three One- One trillion naira at the close of trading on Tuesday to Eighteen Point Three Zero Four trillion, a Six Point Five Two Three billion naira or Zero Point Zero Four percent fall.

Also, on Thursday it dipped further from Eighteen Point Three Zero Four trillion, a Six Point Five Two Three billion naira to Eighteen Billion to Eighteen Point Zero Seven Two Trillion Naira, a one point Two Seven percent reduction.

The All Share Index also closed in the negative, declining to Thirty-Four Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy-Seven Point Two Six from Thirty-Five Thousand, Twenty-One Point Two Six a One Point Four Percent Fall.

However, activity level rose as volume and value climbed significantly with over Ninety-Three percent.

The volume increased to Five Hundred and Fifty-Three Point Nine Five Zero Million   from Two Hundred and Eighty-Three point zero nine one, a ninety-five point six eight percent rise.

The value closed at Six Point Six Three Nine Billion naira, an Increase from Three Point Four Two Zero Billion Traded on Wednesday. This was a Ninety-Four Point One Percent increase.

On the activity chart, there were Thirteen gainers and Forty losers at the close of business on Thursday.

OKOMU OIL PLC was the top gainer with its share rising from Eighty naira to Eighty-Eight, a Ten percent gain per share. MUTUAL BENEFIT followed with its share rising to Twenty-Four kobo from Twenty-Two kobo traded Wednesday, a Nine Point Zero Nine percent gain.

 On the other hand, FIRST BANK OF NIG. HOLDINGS PLC led the laggards with 10 per cent loss on its share price. This was a reduction from Seven naira traded on Wednesday to Six Naira Three Kobo.  WAPCO followed with a ten percent loss, its share price fell from twenty-two naira five kobo to twenty naira twenty-five kobo.

 ZENITH BANK was the toast of investors, selling Sixty-Five Point Forty-Two million shares worth One Point Four Five Six million naira in Eight Hundred and Seventy-Four deals.
