Three die in accident on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Three persons died and two others injured in an accident when a speeding Toyota car rammed into a moving truck on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. 

The auto crash which occurred on Saturday evening at Sapaade – Ogere stretch of the expressway, involved a Toyota car marked KSF122 FB and a truck with registration number FZE840G.

The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Ogun Sector Command, Ahmed Umar, who confirmed this on Sunday, attributed the cause to speeding and loss of control on the part of the Toyota car which rammed into a moving truck from the rear. 

Umar said the injured were taken to Victory Hospital Ogere while the remains of the dead were deposited at FOS Morgue Ipara.

The Sector Commander sympathizes with the family of the victims and reiterated the dangers of excess speed, especially during the rainy season when visibility is usually poor. 

He advised motorists to drive defensively and obey traffic rules and regulations to arrive safely, according to a release by Chief Route Commander Florence Okpe FRSC Public Education Officer for Sector Commander FRSC Ogun Sector Command.
