The Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, ECTDA, demolished the private residence situated along Eziokwe street, off Nike Lake road, Trans Ekulu, Enugu.

Chairman of ECTDA, Dr. Joseph Onoh, said his agency obtained a court order to effect the demolition of the duplex.
Onoh in an interview with signaturetv.org said the property stood on a water way and needed to be removed. He denied that the action was a reprisal to Emejulu’s demolition of the airport fence being constructed as part of the airport rehabilitation.
” It was not just Emejulu’s house that was demolished, about four houses in the area were affected, including a house which was collapsing on its own”.

He further said
“The matter has been ongoing from the previous administration and it is a coincidence that this is happening at the time Emejulu is having issues with the Federal government. No court order could have been obtained between yesterday and today that the incident happened”.
Speaking further, he said quit notice was issued to occupants of the residences on the waterway, months ago, although some residents denied ever receiving any notice before the demolition today.

Emejulu had on Wednesday executed an order of court at the disputed airport land to take back his 400 plots he said he bought from Nike Community in 2008.
