Trading registered surge in all Indicators in NSE

It was a blue day on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday as trading registered increase in all indicators.

All the four indicators, volume, value, the All Share Index and the number of deals appreciated with a minimum of almost 2 percent.

The volume of shares that exchanged hands rose from 578,779,229 traded on Tuesday to 858,156,620 on Wednesday.

The value also increased from N7,743,089,995.00 on Tuesday to N9,062,731,852.56 on Wednesday.

The All Share Index stood at 33,268.36 an increase from 32,647.10 at the end of trading on Tuesday, while the number of deals also increased from 7,651 to 8,142 at the close of trading on Wednesday.

NIGERIAN BREWERIES gained 5 naira per share to top the gainer’s chart among other 62 gainers on the chart. Its share price rose from 52.5 naira to 57.5, a 9.52% rise.

PRESCO followed with a 4 naira gain per share. Its share price rose to 72.5 naira from 68.5, a 5.83%

MTNN also recorded a 3.8 naira gain per share. This was an increase from 152.2 naira per share traded on Tuesday to 160, and Guinness share price rose from 19 naira to 20.9, a 1.9 naira or 10% gain per share.

However, STANBIC IBTC was the top loser. Its share price plunged to 46 naira per share from 48, a 2 naira loss and CILEASING PLC lost 2 kobo per share with its share dropping to 4.1 naira from 4.3 traded on Tuesday.
