Manchester United have finally begun work to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat for their manager, Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag has been eager to bring in a new holding midfielder to his squad to provide competition, cover and support for Casemiro and quickly earmarked Amrabat as the ideal addition.
The Dutchman and the Morocco international worked together during their time together at Utrecht in the past.
Despite their long-standing interest in Amrabat, Man United have waited until a final couple of days of the summer transfer window to finally formalize their interest in bringing the 27-year-old player to Old Trafford
However, according to The Athletic, Man United are now in the final stages of a deal with Fiorentina to land Amrabat.
At one point, Fiorentina were thought to be demanding £ 30 million for Amrabat but Man United are hoping to secure a last-minute loan deal.
Amrabat is already keen to join the Premier League giants this summer.
