Two killed, Many Escaped Death In Abuja Attack

It was a dark moment for residents of Mpape Community, a suburb of Abuja as a group of unidentified hoodlums attacked the area in the early hours of Sunday, killed two persons and injured many. The hoodlums attacked residents close to the Baby village market around 3 am and later proceeded to a nearby house in the community and carried out what could be described as an assassination attempt. An eye witness said that the hoodlums forced their way into one of the residences in the community to murder the owner of the house. The victim who spoke in Hausa language and identified as Adamu Isah said that the hoodlums who attacked his residence and made away with his electronic gadgets and phones were armed with machetes and stabbed him many times Speaking to Signature TV, the Mpape District Head, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim frowned at the incident, describing the victim as a close friend who had stood by him for long. He assured that he will work with the Mpape Divisional Police to make sure that the perpetrators are brought to book. An eye witness, Samson Jatau said that he was going to church around 5am on Sunday when he saw bloodstains on the road and also a man covered in a pool of blood lying on the floor. Another eye witness, Adeniyi Adewumi also narrated a similar experience in the hands of the attackers. The victim also told SignatureTV that the police were able to make some arrests in connection with the attack, including his security guard who he believed to have worked with the attackers to invade his residence This is the second time in the last two months the Mpape community is witnessing such an attack.
