Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange resumed on Monday with an impressive rise in the value and volume of stocks traded.
The volume of stocks rose to five hundred and sixty-eight million, thirty-six thousand, seven hundred and seventy-six, from three hundred and forty-four million, nine hundred and two thousand, seven hundred and eighteen traded on Friday, a sixty-four point six nine percent increase.
The value also climbed from four billion, two hundred twenty-two million, three hundred and thirty-four point five seven naira, to seven billion, three hundred and twenty-six million, one hundred and forty-eight thousand, seven hundred and twenty-four zero eight naira. This was a seventy-three point five two increase.
The All Share Index however fell from thirty-four thousand, one hundred and thirty-six point eight two, to thirty-four thousand, one hundred and twenty-one point seven eight traded on Friday, a zero point zero four % fall.
AIRTEL AFRICAN PLC gained 25 naira on its share price, to top other 11 gainers on the chart. its share price rose from 500 naira to 525, a five percent gain.
However, among 46 losers on the chart, CUSTODIAN NIGERIAN PLC was the top most loser. Its share price fell from 6.5 naira traded on Friday to 5.85, a ten percent fall.
